chance - i imagine they are made of just what you'd expect.

that reminds me of that film 'perfume'. if i recall it was sort of dull throughout the beginning but once he starts collecting females and trying to make perfume out of them, it was pretty cool.

Howdy again. Yet another late posting. I am going to have to check this out at home from now on. Work is just too intense lately. I love the doll head i bought. Its currently hanging in my favorite place, my bookshelf, right in front of my comic books. She is now the guardian of my dreamworlds.

The stare is drawn perfectly. It so seems like that when you are staring into someones eyes for too long.

You appear enthralled.
Feelings stir i smile and wink.
Hey wait what contest?

Hi and welcome Nick. I LOVED Stiff by Mary Roach. In fact, I just finished it and was really sad to reach the ending. Every night I'd snuggle up with cadaver tales before bed and be all excited and happy. Stiff was so fascinating, funny, thought provoking and just plain beautiful. She's an amazing writer and dedicated as hell, huh? She really put herself into some situations with visuals and odors I am pretty sure I couldn't handle.

I am familiar with the awesome B movie the Re-animator but I don't recall Lovecraft's story...it's been a million years since I've read any Lovecraft. Shame on me, I know. I'll check out the story soon. Thanks for the recommendations!

Skulls are lovely drums
bones are perfect for drumsticks
reuse, recycle

kinda off topic, but mentioning the mutter gave me a segway.
Also, if your interested in the backward ways of old medical science, I recommend the book stiff by Mary roach. If your not, then just read h.p. Lovecraft's story reaninimator. Best short story ever.

Seraphine - thanks for letting me know you love it! that's so great to hear. :) i'm hoping you'll send me a pic of you wearing it. if you are too mysterious for photos that's cool too. maybe you can take a pic of your cat wearing it. :D i'm hoping to put together a customer page soon.

J - thanks for sharing the legend. i like the lore that is attached to the origins of some things. sure it's total b.s. but i bet it's more interesting than the way kung fu really got started.

i am reminded of a legend i heard some time ago

once upon a time, there was this indian monk who wanted to bring buddhism to china. so he went north until he found this chinese temple, and there he tried to sell them on buddhism. but they weren't buying it and kind of wished he would just go away.

so the guy goes into a nearby cave and sits himself down facing a wall. and he doesn't come out. allegedly, he was in there for more than a year, and nobody saw him leave. eventually the chinese monks decide they should go in there and collect the body and dispose of it. so they do, and what do you know, he's not dead. he's just sitting there in exactly the same spot, covered in dust, and there is this big ass hole in the wall in front of him that wasn't there before.

as you can imagine, the chinese monks were somewhat impressed and figured that if this guy was badass enough to stare a hole through a stone wall, maby they should listen to him, so they became his disciples. problem is that they were in terrible physical shape, so bad infact that they couldn't even meditate properly, which kind of ruled out staring holes in rock walls.

so the indian monk dude sets to work developing a set of exercises to get them in shape, and teach them to focus and concentrate, and doing so he invents what would eventually evolve into kung fu.
