guest comic by chris hallbeck pretending to be me
Wednesday, July 29th, 2009So I was tweeting a pic of one of the illustrated jewelry designs I call ‘Bunny Loves Kitty’. Chris Hallbeck of the Book of Biff fame thought it sounded like a new comic series by me and went so far as to draw what he imagined it would look like. He brought the little characters in my jewelry to life and um…death. I was so delighted I had to share with you guys so tada…surprise guest comic!
Here’s some of the jewelry I’ve done using the Bunny Loves Kitty design:
A couple of pieces are in the etsy store right now along with several other recently added designs like anatomical hearts, robots, octopus and amoeba. Trying to update the store daily. I’ve had a flurry of sales between local friends and fans, Cherie’s and now several pieces off of etsy so I’m sort of catching back up and making more.
Before I go, check out Obscuria‘s newest addition: a steampunk gas mask. I saw this in the newsletter and drooled a little. It’s just so beautifully done.
That’s all for now. You can make up your own Bunny Loves Kitty adventure and tell it in haiku if you like.

happy birthday amanda! i second the motion, eat cake…or pie….but not cookie’s with faces.
chris’s comic reminded me of a cute spy vs spy as well. i used to read mad magazine when i was a lil kid. my favorite part was the wee illustrations they used to do in the corners of the page. like mini comics in the true sense of the word mini. i always felt like they were sort of secret and i was super cool because i noticed them and would hunt the rest of the magazine to find more. hehe, silly i know but i was like 9 years old.

Ignatz hurls a “brick”
to thwart Krazy Kat’s desire
Offissa Pupp frowns.
I couldn’t help being reminded of that…
Happy birthday, Amanda.

Gah and Calan the guy who did the small comics in margins of Mad is Sergio Aregones he has several fill sized comic books out that my dad bought and collected i saved them from the dumpster when my mom got rid of all his crap after he died. Hes a local guy too i think hes from Miami not the tampa area but still florida native.

it’s a good birthday party when you have to combine cake with medical attention- although next time, instead of having your cat jump out of the cake, hire a stripper. i’m glad he’s ok.

glad the kitty is okay! good job saving those comics from the dumpster. that’s just no place for any comic especially someone who did cool teensy comics in the margins of mad! might even be worth more than the joy of reading of reading them.
