star struck
Wednesday, October 29th, 2008Another mini painting in the star series. You are, as always, invited to write a haiku to accompany the art. I kind of like doing these wordless ones on occasion since it leaves the haiku’n completely to the reader. Or, perhaps I’m just lazy.
Actually, I’m anything but lazy these days. This last week was spent painting skulls, doing another painting (not photographed yet) and designing cd art. I’m kind of worn out but I still have a bunch of printing work to do as well as turning these skulls into wall hangings and I had hoped to do another painting which I have done in my mind but have not yet applied paint to the canvas. Did I mention I’m supposed to have a zombie or monster oriented outfit and make-up ready too? I haven’t even gotten to that yet, but I’m not bad at throwing that sort of thing together last minute.
Johhny Vitale’s The Monsters of Art Show is Thursday at 8 pm at the Garage on Central Avenue in St. Pete, FL. If you are a local, this is the place to be Thursday night. I promise. The sexy Garage girls are getting zombified via body paint plus there will be monsterific art aplenty. If that wasn’t enough, they have these sake bombs that taste like Christmas…
I have no special Halloween comic this year for you, but check back on Dia de los Muertos or Day of the Dead (November 2nd) for something special.
I hope you all have a kick ass Halloween and Bright Blessings to those of you celebrating Samhain. When is someone going to dress up as a GingerDead character and send me pictures? That would win you some GD goodies for sure.
For you myspacers, I’m there now too so if you want to be bffs or whatever – www.myspace.com/calanree
That’s all for now. Remember to check back on Sunday for Dia de los Muertos fun.

Have you gotten any of your paintings in a gallery yet?
October 31st, 2008 at 3:51 pm
aw thanks roxymotion and welcome
satan or god: i have had some paintings in a gallery in eire but completely unrelated to comic. last night at the monster show i met someone from a local artspace that said they would def like to show my work which is awesome. i really just started on the gingerdead/comic related paintings so i’m hoping in a couple of months to have a nice little collection and we’ll see what happens.
