danger
Wednesday, September 24th, 2008Guess who got her first modeling gig? leNoir, that’s who! Well sorta. The deliciously dark online shop Obscuria asked me to do an illustration for their website’s homepage. It will be up for the entire Halloween season. leNoir went all out and dabbed on a bit of blood splatter for the occasion. (awwww)
Visit their site to see the artwork I did and while you’re at it buy some stuff! For those of you drooling at Obscuria’s unique goth merchandise, there is a storewide 15% sale on now. The coupon code is in the illustration.
I’ve been ridiculously busy and will be releasing some new goodies soon plus am working on two super secret GingerDead related projects. I apologize for the brief post and sort of rushed comic this week but time is not on my side at the moment. In fact, I have to run. Jim’s been invited to perform with a big band and the show is tonight. I forgot to eat again today, so I should probably do that before I head out.
Have a great week and thanks for reading and haiku’n with me.

Shouldn’t but be in the second line?

I can relate to the no time. I’ve started a second job that keeps me out till 2am most nights and I still get the lovely priveledge to wake up at 7am with a very clingy toddler.
Stress level high need
a break to read favorite
web comics, Good now

i’m the same way. keep out, danger, no trespassing, adults only, private, anything like that peaks my curiosity. inquiring minds want to know. besides, i like getting away with things. the danger aspect is exciting (while avoiding real danger).
sneak around corners
something i shouldn’t have seen
oh! where’s the toilet?

Well it took me a while to see this weeks installment. I am sick at home and this is one nasty little bugger. First chance i have had to get out of bed and do something constructive. Well enough of my probs. Glad to hear things are busy for you but forgetting to eat….will not do. Can you feel my stern face coming through?
Speaking of curiosity….new goodies and two super secret GingerDead related projects? ARG! The tease is nearly too much. Feels a bit like childhood and waiting for Christmas to finally get here. Can’t wait.
Ha! I love the art for Obscuria. LeNoir is such a natural isn’t she?
Despite the danger
or maybe because of it
we just had to see
Nothing matters less
Happy for whatever end
When i am with thee
Well that’s it for me. Have a great weekend!!!

OH BUGGER! I just thought of something better for the last line on my haiku right as i was posting it.
Replace her with thee. It reads so much better that way. DAMN it all!!

curiosity
killed the cat, is what “they” say
who listens to them?
This comic also reminded me of the first haiku I ever encountered, many years ago in an old novel set in post-war Japan:
you only live twice
once when you’re born, once when you
look death in the face

Curious Kitty
Stuck her nose wrongly inside
Barely escaped That
Simple Missive Said
Do not tread upon this site
Crept in anyway
The trap was baited
Foolishly I crept inside
Only to run hide

ya hours in the day would be nice so i could actually spend some time with my boyfriend but me working at nights is gonna help when i can move his butt down here. I wound up in the hospital sunday morning i thought i broke my ankle at work but its just terribly sprained and all black and blue and swollen i’m not allowed to walk on it or the doctors threatened to cut it off. The good thing about the night job is its terribly easy i get paid $10 an hour to scare people who could ask for more?

Nice! Thank you much for that change. I think it reads better that way.
