if my boyfriend gave me his tooth on a string i would totally wear it, so yeah, i suppose chicks do dig those kinds of things. :)

love the diy fang link! thanks for posting that. i especially liked the comment someone left about just making them with sculpey. i have sculpey and that sounds a hell of a lot easier. i'll post pics when i make mine. i knew a guy when i was a teenager who had extensions put on permanently by his dentist. they looked awesome. i was super jealous. :(

bah! i've no fear of dentistry. getting fillings is nothing once you've had your wisdom teeth yanked. that there was two solid weeks of yuck. and ouch. and soup. though it does leave you with some cool souvenirs. i've been thinking about drilling a hole in one to hang around my neck. or maby to give to someone special. chicks dig personal gifts like that right? maby some earrings?

anyway, i now have a mildly amusing anecdote to share: it seems that unbeknownst to me, my brother also had an appointment there today, directly before mine. this is mildly amusing because they thought he was me, and he had to, with great alleged difficulty, convince them that he was just in for a cleaning. i think he goes back for fillings later this week.

also, i scored some free alginate for future purposes.

insertname - i love long posts and it's my site so hmph! i've had a few dreams that came true a number of years later as well. one was a recurring nightmare about a place i'd never been before. i had it as a small child and my mom would always end up disappearing in it and i'd be lost in this industrial wasteland sorta place trying to get home and terrified she was dead. a few years later, my mom and i were in the place i dreamed of and she was going to leave me in the car to run down the street to get us hotdogs while we waited for my stepdad to come out of the steel yard he was working at. i remembered the dream, told her and she stayed put. perhaps, the dream averted a disaster. i'll never know. it was certainly bone chilling though to recognize the area from that recurring nightmare.

j - the toothpaste thing is funny. sorry to hear you have to go to the dentist. yuck! hope it went smoothly. :)

last night i dreamt about having insomnia. it involved trying to sleep on my dad's couch after putting some anti-insomnia tooth paste on the arm rest so that it would seep into my head and into my brain.

i wonder if that has anything to do with the teeth i'm getting drilled and filled today...

heh heh... I can't CONSCIOUSLY control a dream, but I can control it without thinking about it. Might be why I never get any nightmares. I too, have realized that the previous dream was better and decided to rip a hole in this one and step back into the old one. But I always feel ripped off when other people recount dream lucidity, and I can't. "now my head feels squishy" is one of my favorite lines ever now. And on the matter of dreams, everyone I've talked to has seen the future in a dream - up to a point. I seem to be the best at it. Future dreams every 3 months or so. Problem is, you forget it until it happens a few years later. And for all you who disapprove of long posts because they're meant to be "comments", I laugh at you.

i'm really enjoying reading your dream experiences, sounds like a couple of you have experienced lucidity - the act of being conscious in the dream state, knowing you are dreaming and thus being able to control the dream. it's not so easy to retain the state, but even to experience it for a little tiny bit is always super cool. i love that you rip through the dream and step into the last dream via a hole, heinrich. that's amazing!

sera, GingerDead doesn't really have any fingers, but he liked it when you called him sexdactyly endowed...RAWR!

one time, several years ago, i had a dream where i got up and got ready for school. then, i woke up, realized it was a dream, was disappointed, and got ready for school again. the problem was that that, too, was a dream, so i woke up again and had to get ready for school for a third time. more recently, i had a couple of dreams, and, partway through the second, i realized that a) it was a dream and b) i liked the first dream better, so, in the dream, i ripped a hole in whatever was separating the dreams and stepped through into the first. that was pretty cool.

oh and yeah, it's been awhile since i posted here - but i've been keeping up.

dreams can be much fun.
especially when you know
that you're having one.

in those cases - wheee....
i can fly. i can follow
any whim i want...

@Seraphine: However, Wikipedia has this to say:
"After her death, a number of myths sprung up about Anne. Many of these stories had their roots in anti-Anglican works written by Roman Catholics. It was reported by some that Anne suffered from polydactyly, having six fingers on her left hand. Others claimed she had a birthmark or mole on her neck that was at all times hidden by a jewel. Although the first legend is popular, there is no contemporary evidence to support it. None of the many eyewitness accounts of Anne Boleyn’s appearance—some of them meticulously detailed—mention any deformities, let alone a sixth finger. Moreover, as physical deformities were generally interpreted as a sign of evil, it is difficult to believe that Anne Boleyn would have gained Henry's romantic attention had she had any deformities."

Hehe, this braught up some funny memories from my childhood. My sister would have the hardest time waking up in the morning. You could have entire conversations with her and she wouldn't remember a thing about it 10 minutes later. She also would be up and moving around but still be in her dream lol. Was quite an adventure to deal with her in the mornings. Me, i cant stay in any interesting dreams. As soon as anything odd happens my brain goes "wait a second" and a wake up since i realised i was in a dream. Every now and then though i can control my dream for a little while before i wake up. Those are fun.

I love Poe's work. One of my favorites of all time. His death was a little odd but really if you think about it. His health wasn't all that great and on top of that medical science wasn't very good at the time. So those two things together along with the lack of an autopsy make it near impossible to know what happened. His lack of proper clothing is the only clue towards foul play but even that is not conclusive. It will always be one of those mysteries that never get solved.

It's odd. I never noticed GingerDead was sexdactyly endowed. Anne Boleyn was also formed sexdactyly.
It signifies little, being a passing point of interest...
