I'd say my inspiration comes more from stuff loved as a kid like Burton's work, Charles Addams and a ton of Charlie Brown books I adored. i guess people mispronounce Lenoir's name and then make the jump to Dirge's character. i don't really get it. nothing against dirge. now that i know who he is and have seen some of his stuff online i think he rocks. my heart also goes out to him because of the whole Todd Goldman fiasco, a jerk who truly does use his Lenore character for profit along with other comics work as well. the worst part is fans of Dirge's character often don't realize they are buying Goldman's stuff and think they are supporting Dirge.
