chalkboard folly
Wednesday, June 20th, 2007You know the sound of nails on a chalkboard doesn’t bother me in the slightest. For many, it’s pure torture. What sends me into a cringe-a-thon is squeezing a brillo pad. Ugh! For my mom, it’s biting anything wooden. As a kid, it would fill me with glee to chomp on a popsicle stick in front of my Mom. Ah, sweet power!
Hey, it’s the fiftieth strip! hooOooo! That might not sound like much but in the webcomic world it’s a bit of an accomplishment. I’m happy I’ve managed to get here without missing an update. That being said, a week off is tempting. Don’t be surprised if you see a guest strip next week from one of my favorite comickers. I have a friend in town this week plus I feel like I’m getting sick, so it might be the perfect time to take a tiny break. We shall see.
Anyway, thanks for reading! Have a great week.

The nails on a chalkboard thing always effects me most if i’m the one doing it. Which is odd since it’s supposed to be the other way around. lol.
Congratulations on #50 though! That’s great, and i’ll be happy to read many, many more to come
it’s late though, so haiku to come later. cause well, i don’t want to think one up right now.

Congrats on the 50th Calan! You are truly special. Luff your comic.
There are a few people that grate on me like chalkboard scratches. That makes me sound President bad, I know, but Bush it’s something Bob I have no control Barker over. Occasionally I Britney am embarrassed Spears by this.

Yay 50 comics! That is so awesome.
I really like the new shirt with the ring of skulls. It’s kinda like GD is doing a magic trick and conjuring them out of thin air.

now if you’ll excuse me i need to fetch the smelling salts for Seraphine. I think she got a bad piece of spam or something.

Huzzah for 50 comics
Nails on a chalkboard are pretty bad but it seems I share a trait with Calan’s mother because I absolutely hate biting into wooden things.

oooh, it’s Karen from Planet Karen, yay! Thanks for the haiku!
Starguy, i’m not familiar with many people who have the aversion to wood biting thing. I wonder if it’s common.
Doesn’t anyone share my brillo/steel wool hatred? sniff.

Calan! Congrats on fifty strips! Sorry about not posting more on here, but there’s day’s where all the comments are poetry, and… Yeah, I just don’t throw my hat into that ring.
Brillo’s are fine, steel wool is not a pleasant thing.
June 26th, 2007 at 12:36 pm
okay, i said i’d post a haiku later… so here it is!
Nails scratch across board
Screeching causing suffering
Please just make it stop

Zef, I *love* your haiku! It was worth waiting for.
Calan, I don’t hate steel wool or brillo, per se, but when it gets rusty, it makes my skin crawl to even look at i, much less touch it. Ewww.
