Dries, Are you talking about the Venus Fly Trap? They are carnivorous - eat flies and such as the name implies. My brother had one when i was a kid. It actually snaps closed when something lands inside. They dont look much like my drawings but more like these flattish bean shaped heads. The opening is red in the center though and watching them snap closed on prey is pretty cool. I googled the latin name for you - Dionaea muscipula but if you tell the gardening people ' Venus Flytrap' they'll know what you mean.

(The cactus flowers I photographed aren't carnivorous. They are just weird and only bloom for like a day.)

Haha, I found out the book name ^^ The eternal Champion: Corum, it's a great series, if your into fantasy then give it a look. And it was how I pictured it in my head. Thanks for reminding me about it :)

wow great haikus everyone!

craig - regular comments are just fine! was the book illustrated or it just resembles how you pictured it in your mind? i'm trying to figure out if that author's last name is a blessing or a curse for a guy. hehe

Ooo nice poems from the other commenter's. I was just going to say how that garden resembles the enchanted garden in this book I read a while back. Good book too, can't remember the name but it was by Michael Moorcock.

*Feels like he has to have a poem*
