thanks chris :) i think maybe it's better knowing because left to my imagination...it was pretty awful. :P

Now for Zef Vaughn who IMd me in SL the following haiku because wordpress keeps eating his posts, here's his haiku:

Fluffy bunnies lounge
by seaside sipping cold drinks
made from squeezed lemons

Anyone know why wordpress would do that? He has a basic Windows firewall..would that do it? I want Zef to be able to post again. :(

Well I'm glad to hear that the first round went well. I wonder if the second time will be better because you know what to expect... or if it will be worse because you know what to expect. :p

Hey Everyone :)

Blixa it wasn't lasix to correct my vision, it was a preventitive thing in hopes to save my retina so i don't end up blind.

So, it's all over. I had the procedure yesterday afternoon. The needle was no big deal. I made it clear i was terrified and got double doses of the numbing drops. :) I didn't look when he came over with the needle and quite frankly didn't feel or see a thing. YAY!

The laser was another story. Very strange experience. I had to be responsible for holding my eye in the direction he said. There was no mechanism to keep it in place like I expected. With the numbness and the bright lights I had no concept of which direction I was looking and was so scared I'd move my eye and he'd zap the wrong thing. To compensate, I relied on my brain to direct it by whispering strange mantras in rythym to the laser flashes like "up, left, up, left" or "toes, toes, toes". I don't care if i seemed crazy, it seemed to help. He said I kept my eye in place better than most people. :)

It was still pretty damn painful at times, but all in all not as bad as i expected. After a rough afternoon and night, I woke up this morning in pretty great shape. I expect by tomorrow I'll be back to normal. YAY! Now we just hope that it works and keeps my stupid retina in place. I can't believe I'll have to do this all over again with the left eye in a month or so. I'm going to tell my body to heal it so it's not even necessary. ;)

Thanks for all your comments and haikus. You guys rock!

Ad: No music was harmed in the procedure. :)

Lynda: My light was large, round, bright green with black veins. It was kinda neat except when it hurt.

P.S. The doctor's office has a computer in the waiting room for people to use while they wait. (pretty swank, huh?) Guess what the homepage is set to now? hehe.

Oh cool. Correct eye surgery. I've been curious about doing that myself. I hope it all goes well for you.

Cheers!
