better than chocolate
Wednesday, February 14th, 2007I’m not really sure there’s anything better than chocolate, but then again i’ve never been gifted with fingers snapped fresh off the hands of a stiff corpse. Oh well, maybe someday.
The poorly drawn headless bee in today’s comic is for my friend Matt Sandbrook. He’s ridiculously talented in animation, film making, webcomics, photomanip and painting. It’s sickening, really. You can check out his webcomic, Chip Shop Adventures and other goodies here.
I have one more piece in this lovely finger painting saga and I’m not making you wait until next week for it. So, be sure to check back on Friday.
If you’re in love and doing something sappy or sticky today for Valentine’s Day, good for you. If you are loathing love, here’s a poem that might remind you how good it felt to untie the love noose last time around. Embrace your independence. It’s a wonderful thing.
Love Poem by Richard Brautigan
Its so nice
to wake up in the morning
all alone
and not have to tell somebody
you love them
when you don’t love them
any more.
Thanks for reading. I’ll see you on Friday. You might want to wear your haiku hats.

My dear Ginger Dead,
A sad, emo V-Day card
that’s made just for you…
(…is located at steamedcarrot.com)
I’m no good at these haikus..but i would like to thank you for being the inspiration for the first of our valentines day card series..your dark twisted anti-love has infested us all.

Not only would it have been rude, but perhaps incriminating. Best Valentine’s comic I’ve seen yet!

Ian - glad to have inspired such heart warming cards. i really liked the evil villian and the gangsta ones.
Mike - perhaps.

Miss Kae - I’m glad you found me in the vast sea of webcomics out there. Thanks. Oh, btw you were too late. I’m afraid I was damned long ago, but I appreciate the effort nonetheless.

Yay Lenoir!! Way to come through! No passive victim are you. (Recovering haiku addict resisting urge to rewrite … must … resist … save for next week…)
February 14th, 2007 at 4:33 pm

February 15th, 2007 at 12:40 am
justme:
let me help you. i think the first step is to write more haikus. lots of them.
February 15th, 2007 at 2:14 am
“psst - hey, over here
how’d you like to try haiku?
the first one is free”
trusting innocent
unsuspectingly i fall
into calan’s web
cursed forevermore
wandering the lonely night
for a haiku fix
… no, I don’t think it’s working calan
what’s the next step?
February 15th, 2007 at 2:33 am
i think focusing on something else might help. like drawing me fan art or sending me all your money. the latter is said to be extremely effective.
i know what you mean about the addictive quality. one day a friend and i were writing them back and forth via email, communicating only in haiku form and the rest of that night all of my thoughts were in haikus. even the most mundane things inspired them. it was kind of cool until i was trying to sleep and they wouldn’t stop.

That comic made me hungry for peanut butter and jelly.
February 15th, 2007 at 3:12 pm
Poe - of course you can.
Mark - I’m afraid I just came across that poem via stumbleupon.com and liked it It was hand written and hard to read. I thought I spelled it the way it appeared on the page, but you’re spelling his name different. Perhaps, it’s a different author?
Noble - I’m not sure why it made you crave peanut butter and jelly. I can only assume you spread your peanut butter with severed fingers.
February 17th, 2007 at 5:45 pm
