Its so sweet.... she left his heart out for him .. awww :)

I once did a ring and run to my wife, I left her a huge teddy bear on the doorstep for her birthday. And a digital camera.

It was absolutely forbidden for me to play "ring and run", of course i tried, but mom's echo in my head wouldn't let me. She was really effective.

How funny that you lost panel 3 and that's my favorite one of this comic. :)

We played "ding dong ditch" when I was a kid. We always did it to people we kind of knew about though... no threat of little old ladies. :)

hi Zoe. thanks for following religiously. :P

i'm weirded out by explaining things too much because it never sounds right when you explain a comic strip, but here's some things to consider. it's not meant to be a ha ha funny sort of strip this week. it has more to do with emotions. the door knocker tells you whose house she is at.

i hope that helps. readers, feel free to give your take on it. it's art there is no wrong answer.

did anyone else ever play 'ring and run' as a kid? you know when you ring the bell of a random house and run away. it's completely stupid. when i was a little kid and the group was doing this it always made my mind travel to dark places.

i would imagine a little old lady who was ill and had trouble walking, inching her way to the door with great effort and feeling frightened that no one was on the other side. maybe it was death. maybe it was a lunatic lurking outside her home. maybe the rest of the night, or week or month she'd be creeped out in her own home. silly prank, but it made me feel too awful to participate in. i tend to over analyze everything. i was no different as a kid.
